Morrells Handwriting recently returned to WHSmith in Douglas, Isle of Man, on 1st March to host another engaging and educational handwriting workshop.
The day got off to a flying start with a warm welcome from Kevin Lee, Deputy Store Manager, pictured above.
Led by Sue Smits, the free drop-in session welcomed children and parents looking for practical support to improve their handwriting skills.
Following the success of previous workshops in WHSmith’s stores over the past few years, Sue was delighted to return to the Douglas store to offer simple, effective techniques to help children overcome common handwriting challenges. From refining letter formation to mastering joined-up writing, the session provided a welcoming and supportive environment where children could gain confidence in their writing abilities.
The event saw participation from children across a wide age range, each with unique handwriting concerns. Sue worked closely with each child, offering tailored advice and demonstrating techniques to improve legibility, spacing, and fluency. Parents were also encouraged to get involved, learning ways they could continue supporting their child’s handwriting development at home.
Using Morrells Handwriting workbooks and resources, Sue provided practical solutions to common handwriting issues, ensuring children left the session equipped with the knowledge and techniques to make immediate improvements.
“I’m a stationery enthusiast so I just love holding these workshops in WHSmith’s stores and helping everyone find the right writing instrument,” said Sue.
Parents highlighted the value of receiving expert advice tailored to their child’s specific handwriting difficulties and the positive impact the session had on their child’s confidence and motivation to write.
Morrells Handwriting continues to champion the importance of clear, legible handwriting and remains committed to supporting children and parents with high-quality handwriting resources and expert-led workshops.
