Families preparing for the new school year received expert handwriting advice and back-to-school guidance at a free drop-in workshop hosted by Sue Smits, founder of Morrells Handwriting, at TG Jones Guildford.

The workshop gave parents and children the opportunity to receive personalised advice on pencil grip, letter formation and writing technique, as well as guidance on choosing suitable stationery and handwriting resources for primary and secondary pupils.

With back-to-school preparations underway, Sue helped children and adults understand how the right writing tools can support handwriting development and confidence. From well balanced pencils and pens to age appropriate handwriting workbooks, the session highlighted the role that quality stationery and practical guidance can play in improving writing outcomes.

Sue said, “One of the most rewarding parts of these workshops is showing children and parents that handwriting can improve very quickly with the right advice, techniques and resources. Sometimes small changes to pencil grip, posture or letter formation can make a huge difference to both handwriting quality and confidence.”
